BEGINNER + Ashtanga Yoga (Class 3)

In this Beginners Ashtanga Yoga class we are adding additional asana from the level 2 class we practiced a few weeks ago. You can check out the level 1 class here if you have not practiced ashtanga before, then I highly recommend you start with this class and build slowly.

Class contents:

This is the third class in the a modified Ashtanga Yoga practice for beginners.

During this practice we will move through:

  • Surya Namaskar a (sun salutation a)

  • Surya Namaskar b

  • Padangusthasana to Padahastasana (standing forward fold)

  • Trikonasana a (triangle pose) + Trikonasana b

  • Parsvakonasana a (extended side angle) + Parsvakonasana b

  • Prasaritapadottanasana a, b, c & d (wide leg forward fold)

  • All standing poses from the Ashtanga yoga practice

  • Setubandhasana (supported bridge)

  • Pascimattanasana (seated forward fold)

Final 3 closing postures (modified)

  • Yoga Mudra

  • Padmasana

  • Utpluthih
