personalised and Custom Yoga Therapy which meets you where you are today

TAKE THE FIRST STEP

While group yoga classes can be great and a lot of fun, they aren't always suitable for everyone,

particularly if you're managing health conditions such as limited mobility, hyper mobility, chronic pain or fatigue, hip or knee injuries. Yoga should always be safe and supportive, and most importantly, it should help you connect to your body and breathe and build a practice that works for you.

I have been teaching yoga for over fourteen years and am now training as a yoga therapist (C-IAYT).

Yoga Therapy Case Study Sessions:

As part of my current Yoga Therapy training, I’m offering a small number of case study sessions at a reduced rate. These sessions form part of my practicum as I work toward full certification with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT).

Yoga therapy offers a more personalised practice, guided bu the principles of ygoa and informed by our modern understanding of the body and mind. It is suitable for those working with stress, burnout, pain, injury, recovering and fatigue. Together we’ll explore breath, movement, and relaxation practices tailored to your individual needs.

What to Expect:

  • A 75 -90 minute 1:1 session (in-person or online)

  • Personalised home practice plan after each session

  • Review and adjustment of your program at each meeting

  • A safe, confidential space to explore your body, mind and breath

A Yoga Therapy session ensures your practice is supportive and adaptable, helping you through whatever life brings.

I aim to create a yoga practice that helps alleviate pain, enhances strength and mobility, and fosters mindfulness. You’ll feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported by a dedicated and compassionate teacher, ensuring a practice that’s truly your own.

Your Commitment:

Yoga Therapy works best as a process. I ask that each client commits to an initial series of four sessions over six to eight weeks.

Contribution:

A reduced case study rate of £35 per session (or £130 for a block of four) applies during this supervised training period.

If you are interested in taking part, please complete the short application form below. Places are limited so that I can give each client the attention they deserve.

 FAQs

  • I am an E-RYT 500 which means I am experienced in teaching yoga, I have completed 500 hours of registered training and have over 1000 hours of teaching experience. This is the basic requirement as set out by yoga alliance. I have, however, over 10,000 hour of teaching experience and have trained yoga teachers since 2018. This level of qualification means I can lead group yoga classes, run workshops and teacher training's. It however does not qualify me to work in a clinical setting or therapeutically.

    Training Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT)

Is credentialed through the International Association of Yoga Therapist. Requires me to do an additional 875 hours of postgraduate-level training after a 500 hour training.

It involves the biopsychosocial models of health, pathophysiology of common conditions, psychology of trauma and pain science, (I am also doing a degree in psychology) Therapeutic relationships and ethics, case studies and practicum work with mentors.

The focus is on one to one therapeutic application of yoga practices which involves a bottom up approach to the individual, from body to mind essentially. Working with breath, movement, meditation and lifestyle for specific individual needs.

I often work alongside or are in communication with healthcare professionals.

  • Online sessions are just as effective as in-person sessions. I teach cue-based yoga classes (which means I do not practice with you). I guide you through your practice, only using demonstrations where needed.

They offer a convenient way to learn yoga at a time which works for you and without the need to travel. Which means sessions can fit into your schedule and lifestyle easily.

Practicing in your own space can help you feel more at ease and confident, allowing you to explore new poses and techniques without the pressure of a group setting. I have been teaching online since 2020 and in my experience online private sessions are just as effective as in person.

  • I teach in-person classes in two locations: once a month in Glasgow and the rest of the time in Aberdeen. I usually travel to my clients in Aberdeen but soon I will have a home studio and clients will be able to travel to me if that is more convenient for them. In Glasgow I teach from my home in the West End.

  • Online private yoga lessons are conducted via Zoom which is an online video conferencing platform. You will receive a link via email to join the session at the scheduled time.

Simply click the provided link and follow the instructions to join me online. You might need to download the software if you haven't already, but again instructions are in the email and set up is very easy.

In our first session together I will go through how to set up your camera at the right angle and height so that I am able to see you fully.

  • A yoga mat is highly recommended for comfort and stability. Props like blocks, straps, or bolsters can enhance your practice but are not essential as we can utilise things in and around the home, such as pillows, blankets and throws.

I would recommend purchasing two yoga blocks (the sturdier the better) but again we can work around this if you do not have them.

  • Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows free movement.

Do not wear trainers for the session as we practice yoga in our bare feet as this offers greater stability, and bare feet enhances proprioception, our body’s ability to sense its position and movement in space, which is crucial for maintaining balance and coordination.

  • I do have a cancellation policy that allows for rescheduling or refunds with advanced notice.

I prefer 24 hours notice but do understand that emergency situations can come up. If this is the case the best way to contact me is on my mobile which can be found on the booking confirmation email.

  • Sessions are recorded and sent to you within 12 hours of our lesson. You can access the recording for up to 30 days and use it at your convenience.

Recordings are for your personal use only and are not allowed to be distributed out to a third party.

A recap of our session with written notes are also sent to you.
