What is yoga therapy?

Yoga therapy uses movement, breathwork, relaxation, and mindfulness to support physical, mental, and emotional health. Each session is tailored to your needs and guided by a therapeutic framework.

How is this different from a regular yoga class?

Group classes serve the whole room. Yoga therapy is one to one and focuses on your condition, goals, and capacity. The aim is restoring function and balance across body, breath, and mind.

What does case study mean?

These sessions are part of a supervised practicum toward C-IAYT certification. Your progress is documented anonymously to evidence outcomes. You receive the same care as a full private session at a reduced rate.

Who is yoga therapy suitable for?

It can help with chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, fatigue, pain, joint issues, mobility concerns, recovery from illness or injury, and sleep disturbance. If unsure, book a short call first.

How many sessions will I need?

The initial commitment is four sessions over six to eight weeks. This allows time for assessment, guided practice, and integration. Some clients continue longer term based on goals and progress.

How much does it cost?

Each 60 to 75 minute session is offered at a case study rate of £35 or £130 for a four session package. This supports planning time, supervision, and ongoing study.

Where do sessions take place?

In person in Aboyne, Scotland, or online via Zoom. The in person space is a quiet, heated cabin studio equipped for therapeutic work.

What should I bring or wear?

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. No flexibility or prior yoga needed. Mats, props, and blankets are provided in person. For online sessions, have a mat, blanket, and two cushions or blocks.

Is this the same as physiotherapy or counselling?

No. Yoga therapy is educational and experiential. It complements medical or psychological care but does not replace it. With consent it can work alongside current treatment.
