Professional training
therapeutic practice
and community wellbeing
Welcome
I am an experienced yoga teacher (E-RYT 500) and currently training as. yoga theapist, completing a 875-hour Yoga Therapy Diploma towards certification with the International Association of Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT). My teaching weaves together anatomy, yoga philosophy, and somatic research, bridging traditional practice with contemporary understanding of the nervous system, health, and wellbeing.
Through Deeside Yoga Institute, I teach and mentor yoga teachers via advanced trainings in Yin, Restorative, and Somatic practice, delivered both online and in person in Deeside. I also offer one-to-one yoga therapy sessions and therapeutic body treatments in North Deeside, Scotland.
At the heart of my work is curiosity. Curiosity about how movement and still affect the nervous system. Curiosity about how practice changes over time. And curiosity about how yoga can support a more sustainable way of living.

Each session uses the tools of yoga and blends movement, breath and somatic inquiry to meet your body where it is.

The training was not just about imparting knowledge but also great preparation for starting to teach Yin confidently. Great ideas about how to structure classes – very pragmatic training, encouraging you to apply your knowledge in a practical way.

Gem’s yin yoga teacher training exceeded my expectations. It covered everything I needed to know to begin sharing yin yoga to others. Gem has so much insight and wisdom and delivers this authentically with passion and precision. There was the perfect balance of yin practice, theory and teaching/planning classes. She welcomed the group into her warm and comfortable home and cooked DELICIOUS lunches each day! This course has given me the tools and resources to confidently start teaching yin yoga. Thanks Gem!

I am grateful for this learning opportunity with Gem. I wished this training wouldn’t ended because it was so lovely to meet and come together to deepen our Yin side of practice. Gem is a great teacher with many years of practice and teaching. Her knowledge and understanding of anatomy and theories are for the benefit of others, which is like a treasure in this modern world. I highly recommend this training with Gem if you are keen to deepen your Yin practice and teaching.
